Good Morning Lake Tahoe Skiers & Riders, If you’re visiting, Welcome to Lake Tahoe! Mixed Bag of Weather Monday with Rain, Snow Showers and Strong Gusty Winds that will Hamper the operation of Upper Mountain Lifts at those resorts that remain open… Take the Gore-Tex Jacket today! Have Fun & Be Safe!

 

TODAY’S WEATHER (NWS GREATER LAKE TAHOE AREA): Cloudy. Snow likely along and west of Highway 89, with scattered showers elsewhere. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch with up to 3 inches near the crest. Snow level near valley floors. Highs: 42F to 52F. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Ridge gusts up to 90 mph.

TONIGHT: Cloudy with scattered showers. Lows: 26F to 36F. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph in the evening. Ridge gusts up to 60 mph.

MONDAY: Mostly Cloudy. Highs: 48F to 58F. Light winds becoming north around 10 mph in the afternoon. Ridge gusts up to 55 mph.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress in light layers with a Windproof-Waterproof Jacket or outer Shell. Take a hat or beanie and wear a Helmet for Safety. Also wear Good Sunglasses or Goggles. Don’t forget to use Sunscreen when the sun is out and Stay Hydrated at altitude!

SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are Machine Groomed & Spring Conditions – Skier-Rider Firm Packed Snow Softening.

SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Keep an Eye Out for Marked and Unmarked Obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Do not Ski or Ride above your ability level… Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting down hill. If you go off-piste, always ski & ride with a buddy!
