Good Morning Lake Tahoe Skiers & Riders, If you’re visiting, Welcome to Lake Tahoe! Mixed bag of weather this weekend with chance of rain & snow… Final weekend for Sugar Bowl… Other Resorts open this weekend include Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, Donner Ski Ranch, Alpine, Squaw & Mammoth. Get your Turns in while you can… Spring Conditions with Machine Groomed & Firm Snow in the Morning, Softening with Day Time Temps… Have Fun & Be Safe!

 

TODAY’S WEATHER (NWS GREATER LAKE TAHOE AREA): Rain, snow likely and slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then rain, snow and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Snow level 8500 to 9000 feet. Snow accumulation up to 3 inches. Highs 46 to 56. West winds around 10 mph. Ridge gusts up to 65 mph in the morning.

TONIGHT: Rain, snow and slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then rain, snow likely and slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Snow level 7500 to 8000 feet. Snow accumulation up to 5 inches. Lows 25 to 30. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Snow level 7000 feet. Highs 48 to 58. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 65 mph.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress in light layers with a Gore-Tex Jacket or outer Shell. Take a hat or beanie and wear a Helmet for Safety. Also wear Good Sunglasses or Goggles. Don’t forget to use Sunscreen when the sun is out and Stay Hydrated at altitude!

SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are Machine Groomed & Spring Conditions – Skier-Rider Firm Packed Snow Softening.

SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Keep an Eye Out for Marked and Unmarked Obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Do not Ski or Ride above your ability level… Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting down hill. If you go off-piste, always ski & ride with a buddy!
