Good Morning Lake Tahoe Skiers & Riders. If you're visiting, Welcome to Lake Tahoe. HereÕs your Mountain Resort Report for your Tuesday, March 9th. ThereÕs more Fresh Snow!  Expect Mostly Cloudy Skies with Isolated Snow Showers. Temps much cooler into the mid 20Õs on the Slopes with Light Winds. Dress warm, in layers with your Windproof-Waterproof Jacket. Take a hat, beanie or wear a helmet for safety. Also, wear good Goggles. Surface conditions are Machine Groomed and Skier / Rider Packed Powder. Ski and Ride with Care and always with a buddy if go off-piste. Keep an eye out for marked and unmarked obstacles and ÒStay In Bounds and on opened runs onlyÓ.

South Lake Tahoe & Surrounding Area Resorts

Heavenly Mountain Resort - South Lake Tahoe – Reports 4Ó of new on a base of 57-87Ó. 28 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) Access to the mountain will be from The Gondola, The CA Base Lodge and both Stagecoach and Boulder Lodges on the NV side.  14 Lifts are scheduled on the CA Side & 14 Lifts on the Nevada Side.  94 trails are open (70+MG), Plus 3 Terrain Parks on the CA side. Adventure Peak activities at the top of the Gondola are scheduled to open (11-4:30) with the Snow Tubing, Sledding, Snowshoeing & Snow Bikes for Rent. (PWDR, MG & SKRPP / 15F / MCldy / Lt Winds). Sierra-At-Tahoe - on U.S. Hwy 50 (R2) – Reports 6Ó of new on base of 53-121Ó. 8 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) including Grandview Express to the top, West Bowl & the backside open. 48 Trails are open (37MG) + Jacks Bowl and Avalanche Bowl Open.  Gate 1 accessing Huckleberry Canyon Open – Check with Patrol at the top.  4 T-Parks & Boarder X open. (Super Pipe Closed). (MG & SKRPP / 15F / Lt Snow & Lt-Mod Winds). They also have The Tubing Hill & Snowshoe Trails. Camp Richardson Mountain Sport Center - on Emerald Bay Road - Hwy 89 (R2) - Is open from 9-4. They have a base of 10-12Ó with fresh snow on top. 10-12km of XC trails are open & 2-3km of Snow Shoe trails. Plus Skier packed Trails along the beach. (530) 542-6584. www.camprichardson.com

Hope Valley XC Outdoor Center - 14655 Hwy 89/88 (R2) – at PickettÕs Junction.  The Yurt is open (10-5) They have 4-6Ó of new on a base of 30-70Ó. They and have 60 miles of Marked and Skier Packed Trails with 25 miles groomed out. No Fees to XC or Snowshoe up in Hope Valley and No Snow Park fees. They do except donations. Kirkwood Mountain Resort - On Hwy 88 (R2)– Reports 8-10Ó of new on base from 122-170Ó. All 12 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) with Chairs #6 & #10 to the top of the Front Side + 5 Lifts to the Back Side including the Vista & Covered Wagon tows.  Plus all Timber Creek Lifts to turn.  72 Trails are accessible (40MG) + 8 Bowls, 3 T-Parks, Skier/Boarder X and the Half Pipe open. North & East Shore / Nevada Resorts

Spooner Lake Cross Country - Highway 28 (R1) - at Spooner Lake State Park – is open (9-5) with a base of 36-84Ó. They have 65Km of Groomed Trails up North Canyon to Marlette Lake and around to the Dam. Separate Snowshoe Trails also open around Spooner Lake and above Spooner Meadow. Diamond Peak - Hwy 28 - in Incline Village – is reporting a base of 61-102Ó. 4 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) including Lakeview and the Crystal Express Quad to the top. 31 trails are open (19MG) + T-Park open. (MG & SKRPP / 18F / Cldy / Calm Winds). Learn to Ski or Ride week thru March 12, with First Time Beginners ages 7 and up with equipment rental, 1:45 lesson & beginner lift ticket for only $29. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe - Mt. Rose Hwy 431 - Reports a base of 55-88Ó.  5 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) Including NW Magnum 6 to the top of the Rose Side and the Blazing Zephyr & Chuter Chair (opening at 8:30) on the Slide Side. 60 Trails + 3 T-Parks open.  All the Chutes Gates scheduled to open. Northstar-at-Tahoe - On Hwy 267 (R1)  – Reports 1-2Ó of new on a base of 41-101Ó. 15 Lifts are scheduled to operate (8:30-4) They are open top to bottom - Front to Back including Lookout Mountain. 90 trails are open (66 MG) + 7 T-Parks open. (Super Pipe Closed for Rebuild today). (MG & SKRPP / 16F / PCldy / Lt-Mod Winds). Northstar XC/Telemark & Snow Shoe Center – is open (9-3) with 40km of groomed XC & Snowshoe trails. Boreal Mountain Resort – Off I-80 (R2) at Boreal/Castle Peak Exit – Reports 2-3Ó of new on base 90-160Ó. 5 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) Including the Accelerator Express Quad to the top of the Front Side.  41 Trails are open + 3 Terrain Parks, Super Pipe & the Boarder X Open. Soda Springs Winter Resort - Off I-80 (R2) – Reports 2-3Ó of new on base up to 100Ó.  The 2 Lifts for skiing & Riding are Closed Tuesdy & Wednesdays. They do have 3 Moving Carpets scheduled to open (10-4) for Tube Town, Kids Tube Carousel & Planet Kids. (MGPP / 16F / Cldy & Lt Winds). Mini Snowmobiles are open. Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski ResortOff I-80 (R2) in Soda Springs – Is open in the mornings (9-1:30) on Tuesdays. They report 1-2Ó of new on a base of 90-95Ó. 20 Trails = 54 km of groomed XC trails & Snowshoe trails open. (16F / Cldy & Lt Winds). (530) 426-3871. www.royalgorge.com.

Donner Ski Ranch - On Donner Pass Road (R2) – Is open with 2-4Ó of new on a base of 90-148Ó. 5 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) on the Front Side & Back Side with 53 Trails open. Sugar Bowl Ski Resort - Off I-80 (R2) on Donner Pass Rd  - Reports 2-4Ó of new on a base of 96-156Ó. 10 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) including Mt Lincoln Express & Summit Chair open.  95 Trails are open (52MG) + 4 T-Parks including Switching Yard open. Homewood Mountain Resort - On Hwy 89 (R2) – Reports 4-8Ó of new on a base of 73-96Ó. 5 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) Including the Madden Chair & The Old Homewood Express.  60 Trails are open (34MG) + 2 Terrain Parks and Quail Face Bowl open. Granlibakken Ski Hill – Hwy 89 (R2) - Tahoe City – is open (9-4) Friday thru Sundays – Ski Hill Closed today. They do have XC & Snow Shoe Trails and the Snow Play Area open daily. (530) 581-7533.

Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area - 3 miles E. of Tahoe City on Hwy 28 (R1) – is open (8:30-5) with 2-3Ó of new on a base of 34-60Ó. They are grooming out 19 Trails to open offering 65km of groomed set track for XC with adjacent Snow shoe trails.  Plus 2 Dog Friendly trails are open (8:30-5). (530) 583-5475. www.tahoexc.org

Alpine Meadows Ski Resort - Hwy 89 (R1)– Is reporting 2-4Ó of new on a base of 95-155Ó. 7 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4) with Roundhouse and Summit Six to the top of the front side + Scott Chair & Sherwood Express scheduled to the Back Side. 100 Trails open + 2 Bowls and 3 T-Parks are open. Squaw Valley USA - Hwy 89 (R1)– Reports 2-6Ó of new on a base of 110-164Ó. 22 Lifts are scheduled to operate (9-4). 9 Lifts from the Bottom with the Cable Car & Funitel and Red Dog & KT22 scheduled. Plus, 13 Lifts scheduled to operate on the Upper Mountain, including Shirley Lake, Granite Chief & Silverado on the schedule. 170 trails to open + The Belmont & Monster T-Parks open and the Riviera Super Pipe. The Olympic Ice Pavilion at High Camp is scheduled open for Ice Skating (11-7). Snow Tubing offered at Papoose (10-4). Mammoth Mountain - off Hwy 395- is reporting 5Ó of new on a base of 120-168Ó. 24 Lifts are scheduled to operate (8:30-4) out of all 3 Lodge Bases including the Village Gondola. 150 Trails (101MG) & 6 T-Parks and Wonderland Pipe, Super Pipe & The Super Duper Pipe open (PWDR, MG & SKRPP / 8F / Clear / Lt-Mod Winds).
